Card players probably know the basics of shuffling. People probably wondered how they could have learned it differently. According to easylivingmom.com/easy-card-tricks-that-will-impress-your-friends/, a shuffled deck is what you do to “wash” a deck of cards. It involves placing the deck face down on the table and shuffling the cards. Many dealers use this method to keep the deck clean. It is up to you to decide whether or not to wash the deck. However, what if there was a more excellent way? If you are fond of card games, better try these new shuffles.
Strip Shuffle
Have you ever seen someone put a part of the deck on top and then remove it? This is called a strip shuffle or running cuts. The first step in shuffling is learning how the deck should be cut. This requires more effort than simply removing the top half. To start with, lay the deck horizontally on its side. With both hands, grasp the sides closest to your face with your thumbs. Grasp the opposite side with your fingers. To lift the deck, it may help to raise the fingers of your left hand slightly. Take a small portion of the cards and hold it in your right hand. Then remove the cards from the deck with your thumb and forefinger. Hold the rest of the deck in your left hand. Put the small part of the cards back into your pile. Make the pile rectangular. Repeat this process 5-6 times with a new piece of the deck.
Blackjack Shuffle
This is the way dealers do it. The reason is that after a lot of practice, the cards are the least damaged during shuffling. The cards are minimally folded in this deck, but it has the same effect as a regular deck of cards. With lots of practice, this shuffle can feel effortless. First, align the deck. Make sure it is stacked neatly. Then split the deck so that you have two stacks of the same size. Square them up. Arrange the stacks horizontally so that the inside and bottom corners are facing directly toward you. Place your thumbs in the corners and your index fingers in the opposite corner. Keep your fingers firmly on the cards. Use your thumbs to pull the corners upward. Bring the two halves of the deck together and drop the cards. This is similar to shuffling the cards usually, except that only a tiny corner is used. It would be best if you now shuffled the corners of your cards. You can shuffle the connected cards, square the deck and repeat the process.
Hindu Shuffle
This shuffle can be compared to the Strip Shuffle, but it is played by hand. This shuffle is not easy to master, but it is awe-inspiring once you do it. Hold the deck with the suits facing down in the palm of your left hand. You can easily hold the deck. The deck should be above your middle finger and thumb. Gently tear-off part of the deck with your thumb and index finger. You can hold 1/4 of the deck in your left hand. Place the deck in your right hand on top of the deck in your left hand. Use your middle finger and thumb to remove some cards from the top of the deck in your right hand. Put the cards from your right hand on top of the deck in your left hand. Continue to take parts of the top pile in your right hand and place them in your left hand. When you run out of cards in your right hand, take another ¾ of the bottom of the deck in your left hand, and repeat steps 1-4.
